I found this nice TV series from the Canadian TV network CBC called
Heartland. It is a multi-generational
saga set in Alberta, Canada and centered on a family getting through life
together in both happy and trying times.
The series is based on the Heartland book series by Lauren Brooke,
but it changes the setting from Virginia, USA (in the original novels) to the
small fictional town of Hudson, Alberta located in the foothills of the Alberta
Rockies. Heartland follows sisters Amy and Lou Fleming, their
grandfather Jack Bartlett, and Ty Borden, through the highs and lows of life at
the ranch.
It is a family friendly TV show and it is filmed on location in Alberta,
Canada. The scenery is fantastic and the
episodes and interesting. Each episode
is about 1-hour long and there are 18 episodes in each season.
They are filming the 10th season currently. It is available on Netflix, Amazon Prime and
from the iTunes Store.
If you want to
learn more there is a nice write-up on Wikipedia but its content will give away
the story lines and where the series is headed.
They also have information about each episode.
