Tess turned 15 on November 17, 2016 and she celebrated with a cake made just for her. I love this old girl. She has been so good over the years and a joy to live with.

Heartland - The TV Series
I found this nice TV series from the Canadian TV network CBC called
Heartland. It is a multi-generational
saga set in Alberta, Canada and centered on a family getting through life
together in both happy and trying times.
The series is based on the Heartland book series by Lauren Brooke,
but it changes the setting from Virginia, USA (in the original novels) to the
small fictional town of Hudson, Alberta located in the foothills of the Alberta
Rockies. Heartland follows sisters Amy and Lou Fleming, their
grandfather Jack Bartlett, and Ty Borden, through the highs and lows of life at
the ranch.
It is a family friendly TV show and it is filmed on location in Alberta,
Canada. The scenery is fantastic and the
episodes and interesting. Each episode
is about 1-hour long and there are 18 episodes in each season.
They are filming the 10th season currently. It is available on Netflix, Amazon Prime and
from the iTunes Store.
If you want to
learn more there is a nice write-up on Wikipedia but its content will give away
the story lines and where the series is headed.
They also have information about each episode.

Meet Cady
This is my new 4-footed kid, Cady. I adopted her from the
Humane Society on 5/14/16. Her human had passed away and no one wanted
her. She is estimated to be 6-years old and is a black Labrador
Retriever. She is a really good car rider, gives kisses, has lots of
energy, enjoyed going to Petco (twice) and settles down well at home. She
loves the big walks we have taken in the grassy fields. She is finding
lots of good sniffs! She is my first adoption. We're going to be
working on her obedience skills. Looking forward to our time together and
getting to do lots of fun things with her.
